Tomei Expressway EXPASA Ashigara Dog Run
Shinken Kogyo Industrial Co., Ltd. DOG-LABO provided consulting, construction and product delivery at the dog facility, "EXPASA Ashigara", a service area friendly to pet dogs.
About EXPASA Ashigara
The Ashigara Service Area, located near the Tomei Expressway and Gotemba IC, is one of the largest in Japan and is a pioneer in the service area with bathing and accommodation facilities. Both the up and down lines were popular because of the beautiful view of Mt. Fuji and the fact that there is a faucet that provides groundwater “Water of Ashigara” free of charge. This Ashigara service area has been undergoing renovation work for about one year, and was completely renewed last November 2010 and opened under the nickname of “EXPASA Ashigara”. Through this renewal, we have been developing a complex commercial facility with the aim of creating a new style of service area that will qualitatively shift from a “pass-through service area” to a “stay-type service area”. This is the largest service area in Central Japan Expressway, with a collection of 44 stores and service areas that are unusual as a service area.

A dog run that can be used with a large dog of 630㎡ has appeared! There are two dog runs in the area! On November 25, 2010, a dog run that can use a new large dog opens.
There are two dog runs, including the already open dog run for small and medium sized dogs of 300㎡. The new dog run boasts the largest space in the Tomei Expressway dog run. In addition, agility and playground equipment are installed, so even large dogs can exercise with confidence.
In both dog runs, not only a drinking fountain and a trash can, but also a foot washing place and playground equipment for dogs, please try playing together!
Next to the dog run for small and medium sized dogs, there is a dog café “hula Dog cafe”, which was first opened on the highway. Of course, dogs are also allowed to eat and drink in the store. There is also a dog menu so let’s enjoy meals indoors together ♪

This bench is a polyurethane material that has been specially processed from Styrofoam, and is coated with a grain-treated sheet. It’s like a piece of wood, but it’s cushioned because urethane foam is under the sheet.
